British police to travel to Libya to investigate Lockerbie bombing

Officers from Scottish and London forces will visit Tripoli to discuss terrorist attack and murder of PC Yvonne Fletcher British police will be allowed to travel to Libya to investigate the Lockerbie bombing, David Cameron has confirmed. For the first time officers from the Dumfries and Galloway force in Scotland will visit Tripoli in the next two months to discuss how the investigation into the worst terrorist atrocity on British soil should proceed. The bombing occurred in 1988 and the prime suspect, Abdelbaset al-Megrahi, died after returning to Libya.
